2014 Sitecore Symposium

Sitecore Symposium in one word: EXPERIENCE!

This year's Symposium brought over 1,200 marketers and developers together for insightful keynotes, partner showcases, interactive sessions, networking events and a Las Vegas-worthy party! At the event, Sitecore also announced the newest version of the Sitecore® Experience Platform™ Sitecore 8 as well as how they're adapting to an evolving customer experience landscape.

"Experience" was the buzz word at this year's Symposium. CEO, Michael Seifert gave a compelling welcome speech. Seifert stated, "Experience" is a word that defines what we do at Sitecore; you might say that "own the experience" is our mantra.

David Meerman Scott

On day two of the Symposium, David Meerman Scott, acclaimed strategist and speaker, spoke about how real-time marketing can grow any brand.

David's tips for making the most of real-time:

  • Social media are just the tools. It is a real-time mindset that you must change
  • Just like exercise, the key to developing a real-time mindset is to make it a part of your life. Just like exercise, you can"t be fit if you only dabble. With real-time communications, you need to be constantly thinking: "what can I do right now to reach my customers with information they would appreciate."
  • On the Web you ARE what you publish. If you are creating great information, on the Web, you are great. If you are not focused on content creation and do a poor job of publishing, on the web, you are poor. And if you publish nothing, on the web, you are nothing

Paragon's team of "Sitecore Rockstars" certainly made some noise at the event this year as well! Jon Upchurch, Lead Architect at Paragon, presented a session with Kerry Bellerose, Sitecore VP, Strategic Platform Management, titled: Get with the experience! Information Architecture to unlock the full potential of the Experience Editor and Experience Marketing. The session provided insightful best practices for separating content from presentation, allowing you to free your content from the "tyranny of the page"!

The King himself!

Paragon also hosted a "Big 2" Happy Hour Networking event for clients & partners. Over 200 attendees came to mingle and see who other than the King himself, Elvis!
